Camps and Outings
Apart from the Term Subscriptions, the other cost of Scouting is camps and outings. At Mount Bruce, camps and activities will generally cost around $10 to $40 depending on the type of camp/outing and what the catering arrangements are. At times, the cost of camps and outings may be reimbursed by using Section accounts.
All sections run a number of camps/sleepovers and activities, so it is important to keep an eye out for notices about camps and activities. Usually, we attempt to hold two camps or outings per term.
There may also be times when normal meeting nights may net be held at the den, in order to align with the 'out' in Scouting.
Special Diets at Camp/Outings
If your child has a special diet due to a medical condition, please discuss with the Leader so the menu can be adjusted accordingly. If the menu can't be adjusted to suit, you are able to bring food from home that your child is able to eat.
The form will also have details such as when, where, what time departing from the den and when they are due to come back to the den at the end of the camp or outing. The cost of the camp or outing will also be noted and funds must be paid by cash at time of returning the completed C4 form to the Leader. Please note that the cash and form should be placed in an envelope and clearly labelled with the camp and your child's name.
The payment must be received before the camp/outing commences. If payment is not received prior to or by the due date your child may not be able to attend the camp or outing unless prior arrangement has been made.
Other forms will come to you via email or with your son or daughter so please make sure you return them promptly if necessary.
